What is OPUS, and why use it?

OPUS is DMA's portfolio management system, used for bulk trading, reporting and day to day management of client portfolios.

  • Portfolio management: Build and execute model portfolios against individual accounts or a pre-built group of clients, giving you as portfolio manager the flexibility to tailor allocations while saving time. Stock adjustments and instrument switches can also be done within OPUS.
  • Multi-asset trading: Connects directly to Saxo Bank and other trading venues, with block orders and order consolidation letting multiple accounts trade off a single instruction.
  • Built-in risk checks: Pre-trade checks run automatically before an order is placed, and post-trade tests run against end-of-day files, with optional supervisor approval workflows for discretionary or high-risk mandates.
What are OPUS reports?

OPUS produces performance reporting by portfolio, strategy and asset class, viewable at both a consolidated and a single-account level, alongside asset allocation, risk and contribution views. Each user sees the view relevant to them, whether that's a dealer, portfolio manager or compliance view. OPUS data also feeds through into your Unity reporting. You can also request custom reports and data extracts built to your own specification (see the DT04 code below).

How does trading look on OPUS?

You can place trades directly on OPUS, with DMA's trading desk executing where required. Orders can be consolidated across multiple accounts into a single instruction, positions update in real time with live pricing, and every order carries full visibility from instruction through to settlement.

Who to contact for OPUS assistance

DMA's Helpdesk is the first point of escalation for any OPUS related trading, data or user issue. Cases are logged with a DT reference code and sent to helpdesk@dma.co. Use the correct code so your request is routed and prioritised properly:

  • DT01: All OPUS real-time trading issues – unable to trade live within the OPUS Portfolio or OPUS Trader platforms.
  • DT02: OPUS general platform support – all general OPUS platform support queries, including user creation and account access.
  • DT03: OPUS platform EOD data queries – enquiries related to end-of-day imports/exports into the OPUS platform.
  • DT04: OPUS report requests and amendments – new data extracts or reports may attract a development fee and require approval. New requests take 8–10 working days; amendments take approximately 5 working days.
  • No code: Without a DT code, your request is placed in the backlog until an agent is available, which may take up to 4 business days.
